Nicely finished capped fullplate fusee movement with balance-brake. Single-roller detached lever escapement. Under-sprung compensation balance, spiral balance-spring. One-piece signed enamel dial, gilt hands. 43 mm diameter, 10 mm deep, not including centre arbor.
Thomas Blundell, now little known, but one of Liverpool’s longest serving watchmakers who, in the 1871 census, is recorded as employing twenty men and a boy. Blundell was then aged 77.
Broken hands and a small edge chip on the dial. Otherwise complete, in lovely condition, and ticking when wound.
