No 40293"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Capped fullplate going-fusee movement with three-wheel train. Massey detached lever escapement with 30-tooth escape and type-3 jewelled roller. Steel balance, spiral balance-spring. Lovely engine-turned silver dial. 40 mm diameter, 11 mm deep, not including centre arbor.<\/p>\n<p>Robert Roskell, a most famous Liverpool watch, clock and chronometer maker, and one of the most influential of Lancashire watch retailers.<\/p>\n<p>Edward Massey, the most important detached lever escapement manufacturer of the first half of the 19th century.<\/p>\n<p>A lovely movement by this important Liverpool maker in crisp condition, and with a most unusual dial for Liverpool work. Lacking hands, otherwise complete and nothing broken. Not cleaned by me but ticking happily when wound.<\/p>\n<p>NB.
