A rare catalogue of a select collection, including items by Tompion, Quare, East, Fromanteel, Knibb, Emery, Ellicott, Vulliamy, Rentzsch… and no less than two Mudge-copy chronometers!
S Ernest Prestige was a cousin of Sir John Prestige, both of who formed outstanding collections, amongst the best of their day. S E Prestige also collected fine English furniture and bequested some of his finest clocks to the Fitzwilliam Museum Cambridge, amongst which are two wonderful Tompion longcases and my own particular favourite, the equation-of-time longcase by William Dutton.
In good clean condition, with photocopied List of Prices and Buyers’ Names. NB: Nileb = Belin.
