SOTHEBYS – Masterpieces from the Time Museum. Part 4

Fine record of, part of, the important collection formed by Seth Atwood.

Item 102972 Categories: Books, etc, Catalogues, etc

£95.00

Set of three soft cover catalogues in the original stout slip box covering the sales held in New York on October 13th, 14th and 15th, 2004. The major part of the Time Museum collection of clocks, watches and chronometers, once displayed at a Rockford Motel. The three highly illustrated volumes covering lots 500 to 1153, with photocopied list of prices realised.

A sale I was pleased to attend, the like of which I shall never see again: Mudge Green; Col Quill’s Harrison regulator; Ferdinand Berthoud; Abraham-Louis Breguet; John Arnold; Charles Frodsham; William Dutton; and much, much more.

A slight bumped corner to box and the catalogue spines with stress cracks that I often see on such heavy coated paper catalogues – the pages and covers unmarked. Otherwise almost as new and rare in its presentation slip box, of which few were produced.
