PHILLIPS – Vaudrey Mercer collection
Part 1 – the smaller part of the collection sold 24th April, 1990.

Card covers, 245 lots in total, part of which relate to Dr Mercer. Phillips Son & Neale, New Bond St, London, 24 April 1990.
The family chose to sell the majority of the collection, (including most of the items relating to John Arnold) via Phillips in 1990. The did so without publicity, however, and the lots were offered without giving provenance. The more expensive items were sold alongside the Col H Quill collection in Phillips sale on 29th February, this much smaller sale containing the workshop and less expensive items was sold in two parts, this being Part 1. NB: The family also kept some items and disposed of the larger collection of watch movements privately.
Not much therein but for anyone with an interest in Dr Mercer it adds a little to his history…
