The sale of the museum’s collection owned by the Kienzle Clock Factories AG firm was pre-empted by the State of Baden-Württemberg who, like that with the Ilbert collection, stepped in at the last minute to purchase the collection; the majority of it going to the Furtwangen Uhrenmuseum, the rest to the Heimatmuseum at Villingen-Schwenningen.
