CHAMBERLAIN – Watches…

The Paul M Chamberlain collection at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Item 102942 Categories: Books, Books, etc, Catalogues, etc

£35.00

Card covers, 52 pages, 292 watches described, many illustrated. Privately printed, Chicago, 1921, in later black cloth binding retaining the original covers.

The rare catalogue of the first of two Chamberlain watch collections. This was lent to the Art Institute of Chicago but was stolen in 1958, many of which have not since been seen – a tragedy. Major Chamberlain put together a second even larger collection. Much better known, this was dispersed after his death by his widow Margaret.

Some shelf wear to binding, marks to the cover and creasing to the pages, but no loss or tears.
