Rare rough movement (ebauche) with ruby cylinder escapement, circa 1830.
Slim Lepine-inspired barred movement complete with mainspring, train and escapement, with ruby jewelling on balance and escape, the frame bearing no number or maker's mark. English style jewelled cylinder escapement with steel escape. Plain balance and spiral balance-spring. 25 mm diameter.
A keywound going-barrel movement as can be found in a great variety of finished Geneva and Paris work around this date.
A rare survival in good clean original condition, but balance staff problems and a few missing screws. Not working.
